Mesilat Yesharim – Chapter 6 – Part 1

Rabbi Guy Matalon

In this chapter, the Ramchal begins to explain the trait of Zerizut (alacrity) in greater depth. He emphasizes that serving God requires eagerness, energy, and readiness, just as people pursue worldly success with passion. A person should not delay in performing mitzvot, since hesitation often leads to neglect. True alacrity comes from a heart that values closeness to God and recognizes the great privilege of fulfilling His will.
