Another reason to love it: Chamomile tea has long been known for its soothing and healing properties when consumed. However, recent research has found that these properties also aid in external healing, particularly concerning eczema and other skin problems. The chamomile plant contains antioxidants called polyphenols and flavonoids that maintain the structure and proper functions of body cells and reduce damage when it comes to 'sick' cells.

Many naturopaths in Israel and around the world recommend using chamomile flowers or extracts from the tea in the form of a bath or compress applied to the site of inflammation, wound, burn, or skin irritation, including psoriasis and eczema.

How to use it?

You can purchase chamomile flowers at nurseries, health food stores (as a dried product), or in tea bags. If you decide on a tea bag bath, you will need about five to seven bags which you soak in the bath about ten minutes before entering. This treatment is also excellent for infants suffering from painful skin irritations due to diaper rash.

In the case of eczema on the legs, you can dip them in a large bowl with 10 drops of almond oil and 10 drops of German chamomile oil (available in health food stores and select pharmacies) and soak your feet in the warm bathwater for about 15 to 20 minutes.
