Trying to lose weight but not succeeding? The results of the following study might encourage you to keep going and not give up. A 2012 study by researchers at the San Diego Biological Institute determined that a high-fat diet leads to diseases such as diabetes, whereas a controlled diet with calories consumed at fixed times throughout the day leads to only a slight weight loss.

In the new study, published in the magazine Cell Metabolism, researchers proved that the amount of calories consumed during the day is not as important as the times at which food is consumed, which should be consistent and within a maximum of 12 hours.

It is still unclear what exactly causes our bodies to function this way, but it is believed that the phenomenon is connected to our biological clock, which is directly linked to the metabolism process, and that internal processes in our bodies are significantly influenced by cyclicality - by consistent times at which the daily consumption of food occurs.

Does the first coffee of the morning count? Very much so. The answer: absolutely yes. Anything you consume within 12 hours and at regular intervals will contribute to the weight loss process. So, when was the last time you had something to eat? Don't forget to occasionally check the clock and carefully plan your meals. Good luck!
