When renowned oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Long decided to delve deeply into thousands of near-death experiences, little did he expect that his findings would become a monumental discovery in the world of science and medicine.

Dr. Long's recent comprehensive study unveils fascinating insights into what occurs when the brain hovers on the brink of death, ceasing function—a phenomenon professionally termed as a Near-Death Experience (NDE).

Over several years, Dr. Long examined more than 3,000 cases of near-death experiences among both children and adults. His unequivocal conclusion is that this phenomenon transcends religions and cultures. "Whether you're a Muslim from Egypt, a Hindu from India, or a Christian from England, it happens to everyone. Even children who've never heard of near-death experiences and can't grasp religious complexities are involved—it's simply incredible," he shares.

Dr. Long discovered two main scenarios that occur during an NDE: "The first is an out-of-body experience near the 'deceased' person's body, and the second involves visions of a spiritual dimension." Many who undergo a near-death experience describe these visions as a long tunnel filled with light leading to an infinite space or a 'warm' and 'loving' light welcoming them. "The testimonies center around surreal landscapes that can't exist in our world, such as flowers in unimaginable colors or indefinable music notes," explains Dr. Long in a British media interview.

The out-of-body experiences during near-death experiences often involve a sensation of the soul detaching from the body, floating above, and observing the situation it is in—from above, with 'eyes' that are no longer physical. "In every case I investigated, people reported the existence of a higher power," Dr. Long explains in his bestselling book "Evidence of the Afterlife", co-authored with writer Paul Perry, where he argues against atheistic claims.
