Is it permissible for Sephardim to rely on the Tzurat HaPetach eruv as commonly practiced, and carry items in and out from private domain to public domain on Shabbat?
Those who practice the leniency of carrying on Shabbat in a public domain through a Tzurat HaPetach eruv have authorities upon which they can rely. One who fears the word of Hashem and completely refrains from carrying on Shabbat, blessings shall come upon him. Nevertheless, such a person is permitted to allow someone who does carry to take a handkerchief, prayer book, or similar items for him, even if that person is bar mitzvah age [Yabia Omer 9, 33].
