What blessing is recited over a jelly donut or fricassee?
Dough that is deep-fried in oil, such as jelly donuts or fricassee, requires the blessing of mezonot, even if one establishes a meal with them. There is no lack of fear of Heaven if someone eats enough of these to constitute a meal [Responsa Ach Tov VaChesed].
What blessing is recited over croutons?
When cutting bread into pieces smaller than a kezayit (olive size) and frying them, one should recite the blessing of borei minei mezonot. However, if the croutons were baked in an oven, their blessing remains hamotzi.
