According to many nutrition experts, breakfast gives us the energy needed to continue the day and is significant for our health.
If you are among those who just have a cup of coffee because you're rushing to work, dieting, or just don't feel like investing - you should read the following lines.
1. Breakfast Prevents Gall Bladder Diseases
The Talmud states that breakfast can prevent more than 80 types of diseases. In the tractate Bava Metzia (page 107), it is written: "Eighty-three illnesses depend on the gall, and all are nullified by morning bread with salt and a jug of water."

2. Breakfast Strengthens the Body
Breakfast usually breaks a 12-hour fast, preventing physical weakness. This is why it's important to eat before a study or workday.
Additionally, it strengthens the body, prevents obesity, boosts mood, and builds muscles and bones—at night, when we sleep, the body doesn't receive nutrients, resulting in a process of bone breakdown, which stops when eating in the morning, aiding in bone building.

3. Breakfast Prevents Obesity
Morning bread accelerates the body's metabolism, balances blood glucose levels. By maintaining regular eating hours—morning, noon, and evening—eating disorders and "snacking" throughout the day are prevented.
The Rambam presents it this way: "Eat in the morning like a king, at noon like a prince, and in the evening like a pauper."
4. Breakfast Improves Thinking, Attention, and Concentration
Chazal also recognized the importance of breakfast in improving cognitive abilities. According to Chazal, someone who eats bread "his mind is calm and he wins in court" (Bava Metzia, page 107)—meaning, thanks to eating morning bread, he has a settled mind and can respond to others appropriately.
6. Breakfast Prevents Bad Breath
Morning bread aids the body in expelling waste and toxins in feces and urine and contributes to a proper metabolism process. Thus, maintaining breakfast can prevent bad smells from the body and mouth.
