Five Colors of Fruits and Vegetables

Eating fruits and vegetables from all five color groups can accelerate the recovery process. Antioxidants like flavonoids, anthocyanins, and carotenoids help fight 'radical' bacteria that can damage cells and endanger the immune system.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is a good source of nutrients such as selenium and zinc. Greek yogurt also provides B12 and additional "good" bacteria that assist in protecting the digestive system.

Green Tea

Sipping green tea can help with overall health. Green tea contains polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants that have been proven to help fight diseases.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is another powerful antioxidant that can help keep the immune system strong. Vitamin C, found in citrus fruits, helps strengthen white blood cells and defend against bacteria.

Lean Beef

Zinc is a mineral that helps maintain a strong immune system, and beef is considered an excellent source of zinc, providing nearly half of what is needed in a day. Vegetarians can obtain zinc from legumes, nuts, and even dark chocolate.
