If you are trying to lose weight, the first thing you will likely be told is to stop drinking sugary drinks. Naturally, sweetened beverages cause weight gain for a variety of reasons. But if you stop with them – what should you drink?

Well, it turns out that there are quite a few drinks that aren’t just harmless – they can actually aid in weight loss. We've brought you the five most recommended drinks that will help you shed pounds.

 

In fifth place: Green or Black Tea

Tea is a warming and tasty drink, in all its varieties, and is nice to include in your diet plan. Green tea contains a high amount of antioxidants and catechins, which help the body's metabolism. Studies show that green tea can aid in preventing weight gain. If you find green tea unpalatable, you can add a bit of honey.
