Aluminum Is Everywhere. Here's What You (Don't) Want to Know About It

What's the link between aluminum and cancer, which foods and products contain high levels of aluminum, and how can you remove aluminum that's already entered your body? This article is a must-read.

Pots and pans, soda cans, disposable trays, aluminum foil, deodorants, and even everyday food items like ready-made dough, cakes, pickles, table salt, yellow cheese, baking powder, and various powders (including infant formula) - these are just a partial list of products we consume that contain very high levels of aluminum.

So, what's the problem with this?

There are cells in our body, and particularly in a woman's body, that become more vulnerable to mutations when exposed to aluminum. These mutations, combined with several factors, can develop into cancerous cells and cysts.

More and more men and women are using deodorants that dry out 'sweat', but most deodorants produced today contain aluminum (which is what actually dries out the underarm area).

Research examining the effects of aluminum on our health has returned rather grim findings, so we should strive to avoid products containing it as much as possible. For instance, one study noted that some canned goods, a staple in every home, contain a dangerous substance called BPA, which can disrupt the body's hormonal balance. How can you tell? Turn the can and look for the number 7.

Any product containing the number 7 contains BPA or bisphenol A, a dangerous substance that can disrupt hormones in the body and, among other things, may cause fertility problems in women.

The problem with aluminum is once it enters our bloodstream, the path to being absorbed into tissues is short. Although some of it is excreted through waste or filtered by the kidneys and excreted in urine, if aluminum reaches the stomach, it will harm phosphorus absorption - meaning long-term damage to bones and teeth.

So how can you still help the body get rid of aluminum? One of the more favorable tips is to increase foods containing antioxidants known as polyphenols, like fruits and vegetables. Polyphenols will not only help the body fight free radicals caused by aluminum but also combat cancer cells and inhibit the growth of blood vessels with tumors.

What else will polyphenols do for you? Here's the partial list:

- Protect your skin from UV radiation

- Assist in maintaining brain function and cognition

- Reduce inflammation in your body

- Preserve blood vessels and the heart

- Balance your blood sugar

- Maintain normal blood pressure
