Joint pain, particularly in the knees, can be a real nuisance. There are numerous reasons that require intensive examination by a doctor to trace the source of the problem.

It may be a meniscus tear that has led to chronic inflammation in the joint - of which the persistent pain is just one symptom.

If it is indeed a case of chronic pain, a home remedy will not solve the problem at its root but will only alleviate the intensity of the pain.

Therefore, the best recommendation is to combine both approaches.

The internet is full of dozens of natural concoctions or 'grandma's remedies' for treating knee pain. One of them is from Grandma Ekaterina, who uses warm cabbage and honey on the sore knee. Although cabbage is known for reducing swelling, Grandma Ekaterina's recipe, say many of the commenters, is a 'great innovation'.

"It's truly a miracle remedy"

So what needs to be done? "My husband occasionally suffers from leg pain, and this is what I do for him every time. We never buy regular medicine at the pharmacy," says the pleasant grandma as she demonstrates the procedure on her husband who waits patiently for his remedy.

Ekaterina warms a quarter cup of honey and outer cabbage leaves, which she flattens beforehand using a schnitzel hammer, in the microwave.

Ekaterina applies the warm honey to her husband's knee and then places the warm cabbage leaves on top (no need to warm for more than three seconds). Afterwards, they place a soft towel and wrap the area well with an elastic bandage or an old sock with its closed end removed.

Remain with the cabbage for two to three hours or overnight. And what are the reactions?

"It's truly a miracle remedy for knee pain", "I knew it helped reduce congestion during nursing, I didn't know it helps knees too", "Definitely worth trying, it really helps", and more.
