#VALUE!
Annona is originally a tropical fruit, but it has adapted very well to the country, and today it can be grown in any private garden. Annona has very special properties: its taste is particularly delicate, and it is soft and easy to eat. Annona is very sweet (so much so that its English name is "sugar apple"), but contrary to what you might think, it is actually low in calories. It is also high in dietary fibers. Annona contains a lot of vitamins, such as various types of B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin A, and more. It is also very rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium.
What do you get from it?
The nutritional wealth of annona makes it particularly healthy. Eating annona helps lower blood pressure, improves energy levels in the body, relaxes and balances the mood. Annona also helps the digestive system, especially in cases of constipation or stomach inflammations. It is also good against the formation of intestinal worms.
In cases of throat infections and coughs, which are common in winter, it is highly recommended to add annona to the diet. Annona helps improve the condition and generally strengthens the body’s immune system.
It is also good for bones: annona strengthens bone density and also maintains dental health well.
And if you are looking for interesting ways to eat annona, here is a recipe for ice cream, or rather sorbet, made from delicious annona:
Annona Ice Cream
Ingredients:
5 anonnas
6 tablespoons sugar plus a teaspoon
1 1/4 cups water
Lemon zest from one lemon
Preparation:
Halve the anonnas, scoop out the core with a spoon and separate the seeds with a strainer.
Boil the water and sugar together, lower the heat and cook stirring for 10 minutes until syrup forms.
Transfer the anonnas and syrup to a food processor and grind well until the mixture is completely smooth. Freeze for two hours. After two hours, remove from the refrigerator, mash with a fork, and freeze for at least another hour before serving.
When serving, garnish each portion with lemon zest.
