The average stomach can hold a liter of water, but overeating can expand its capacity. To prevent stomach expansion and reduce it, follow these three simple rules:

1. Eat slowly

Studies show that eating slowly leads to lower calorie intake and increased satiety because it takes about 20 minutes to feel full.

2. Do not drink water during meals

Drinking water and carbonated drinks during meals can expand the stomach and make space for more food in the meal.

3. Five small meals throughout the day

After about a month of eating small meals, there will already be a change in stomach volume. The stomach is essentially a muscle, so it's logical that if we fill it with three large meals every day, the stomach's capacity will increase, and conversely, if we eat five small meals throughout the day, the stomach volume will decrease.
