Is it possible to cope with cancer through laughter? Amit Mokady, 14 years old, who was diagnosed with the disease a few months ago, claims that dark humor is his way of handling the struggle with the difficult illness.
In an amusing video created by Mokady, a group of animals is seen joining a 'support group' where each one complains about the other, until the lion – the group leader, gets annoyed. "Enough, enough," he yells. "Stop arguing already. I've already got cancer from you."
Of course, at this point, 'the cancer' sitting on the side wakes up to life and starts to whine and say things like 'What, how am I related to all this?'. "Dark humor is something that accompanies me every day, and laughing about cancer is my way of talking about it," explains Mokady in an interview with 'Ynet'.
He further shared that from the very first moment of his illness, he wasn't embarrassed to talk about cancer and share it with his friends – all with humor, of course. "The message of the video is that you can take everything lightly. If I can laugh about cancer, then even a donkey can take humor in a saying like 'Donkey jumps over the head'. You can laugh about everything, even cancer," concludes the young boy.
