#VALUE!
Whether or not you're dieting, certain foods are best avoided to maintain good health. Here is a list of 5 particularly unhealthy foods you should try to eliminate or consume very sparingly:
1 .Fries
Typically, fries are consumed outside the home and are often deep-fried. Sometimes they are eaten as snacks. It's important to know that a regular serving of fries contains 427 calories, not to mention they are high in salt and fats, which can lead to overeating. Next time, try opting for steamed or baked potatoes.
2. Ice Cream
Commercially sold ice creams are usually overloaded with unnecessary sugar. Ice cream contains a lot of excess calories that you probably don't want.
If you absolutely can't resist, try choosing a healthier ice cream, containing no more than 15 grams of sugar per serving, and of course, control the portion size you plan to eat.
3. Cookies, Croissants, and Other Pastries
All kinds of pastries contain huge amounts of sugar and extra fats, and obviously are high in calories, hence it's advisable to limit their consumption as much as possible.
If resisting is hard, eat one or two cookies, but be sure to set the package aside first.
4. Sodas, Nectars, and Juices
Sodas rank high among fattening products. The logic is simple - they are high-sugar drinks with no nutritional components and you likely don't want to add surplus calories to your diet.
Moreover, studies have shown that regular consumption of sugary and fizzy drinks increases the risk of weight gain more than those who don't drink them. Additionally, regular consumption of cola and similar drinks increases the risk of obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and even some cancers.
Regarding store-bought juices, these are often sugary nectars without dietary fibers and other essential elements found in whole fruits. It's better to eat a whole fruit than drink its juice, or at least opt for 100% fresh juices and limit intake to no more than 150 ml daily.
5. Ready-Made Pizza
Store-bought pizzas are very tasty but contain very large amounts of fat, simple carbohydrates, and calories. Try finding a pizzeria that uses healthier ingredients like fresh vegetables and whole wheat flour, or better yet, make a homemade version of pizza.
