#VALUE!
It is well-known that carrots and other orange fruits and vegetables enhance vision due to a type of vitamin A called beta-carotene, which gives them their orange color and helps the retina and other parts of the eye function better. However, there are additional foods that contribute to our eye health. Get to know some of them:
1. Eggs
Egg yolks contain high levels of lutein, which helps prevent macular degeneration that can lead to blindness. Additionally, the zinc in yolks is also efficient in maintaining retinal health.
2. Strawberries
Berries and strawberries are very rich in vitamin C, which research has shown to be an effective antioxidant in reducing the risk of cataracts in adults.
3. Avocado
Avocados are rich in lutein, a carotenoid that filters harmful light rays and also acts as an antioxidant. Lutein is present in high concentrations in the eye, but the body cannot produce it, so it is important to get it through diet. Additionally, avocados have been shown to slow the progression of cataracts.
4. Almonds
Almonds are high in vitamin E, a very powerful antioxidant that contributes to eye health.
5. Garlic
Garlic contains selenium, vitamin C, and quercetin, which neutralizes free radicals and helps prevent aging processes, including eye diseases.
