However, heed this warning: "Like any heartburn medication, if you consume too much baking soda, you will turn your stomach acids too alkaline. This might lead to the production of more acids to compensate, causing you to take more baking soda and potentially lead to a vicious cycle," says Brandon.

Brandon recommends for those prone to stomach pain to use one teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of 235 ml water every morning to maintain a healthy acidity level in the digestive system, in addition to reducing heartburn and promoting healthy bowel movements.

The kidneys detoxify the body and maintain normal hormone production. According to research conducted at the Royal London Hospital, 134 patients with kidney problems who consumed baking soda daily, along with regular treatment, managed to slow down their kidney deterioration by two-thirds compared to those who did not consume baking soda. According to Brandon, a teaspoon of baking soda each day in a glass of water will help balance the acidity level in the body. Additionally, it can absorb nutrients, improve hormonal balance, and enhance blood quality.
