"Still Amazed by the Change": Drank Almond Milk for a Month, Here's What Happened to Her Body
A user tried an almond drink recommended by a famous U.S. doctor and returned with amazing findings on its impact on her blood pressure.

Dr. Joseph Mercola is a well-known and popular author in the U.S., with columns published in the 'New York Times' and other reputable places. His professional record includes dozens of enlightening books and medical articles.
A recently published article on his official website received quite a bit of feedback and shares. In the article, Dr. Mercola lists the health benefits of almond milk, but also debunks quite a few myths about it - such as the common belief that it is high in fat. "The amount of almonds in a half-liter carton of almond milk is shocking," writes Dr. Mercola. "Studies indicate that it's just a handful. For instance, a study done on a British brand producing almond milk found that the almonds constituted only 2% of the drink, and the rest? Sugars and water."

Nevertheless, according to Dr. Mercola, this milk is preferable to cow's milk. "Almond milk contains tryptophan, a substance that contributes to a calming sensation, reduces insomnia, and improves our concentration ability. I recommend almond milk to many of my older patients as it rejuvenates the skin and hair and delays aging processes. A cup of almond milk with a tablespoon of honey is my recommended solution for those suffering from various digestive system problems," he concludes, adding that there is no doubt that this drink has also recorded successes in maintaining normal blood pressure.
"I know exactly what you're talking about when it comes to blood pressure," one of the users wrote in response to the article. "I suffered from high blood pressure for years, and thanks to your article, for the past month, I've been consuming this drink and am still amazed by the change, unable to digest it. My blood pressure dropped significantly in less than a month, and for that, I am grateful to you," she concluded.
