When we hear the words 'healthy cooking' we often think of effort, hassle, and endless cooking techniques like steaming, filtering, and baking. The good news is you can eat healthily with a few simple steps without spending hours in the kitchen. Here are 4 beneficial tips for your health:
1. Use Frozen Vegetables – This is a very popular and effective method. Buy frozen vegetables that can easily be thawed in the microwave, from which you can quickly and easily prepare vegetable soup.
2. Switch to Quinoa – Instead of rice, you can use quinoa.
3. Add a Piece of Carrot to the Frying Pan – Health and frying don’t usually go together, so to reduce the damage of frying, you can add a piece of carrot to the pan.
"In the frying process, free radicals are created, associated with cardiovascular diseases, cancers, premature skin aging, and damage to other tissues," explains Yael Keren, a clinical dietitian. "Adding a piece of fresh carrot, rich in beta-carotene - important antioxidants - to the oil at the start of frying, will enable them to counter the free radicals, thus reducing the undesired oxidation of the oil. It's recommended to replace the carrot occasionally during frying".
4. Cook More – If you're already cooking, make a bit more. Put the extra in containers, and store them in the freezer, so you don't tire yourself with cooking every day.
