Suffering from cracked skin on your heels? Aside from being unaesthetic, it can be quite painful. How can you overcome this issue? Here’s an especially useful grandma’s remedy:

In a bowl of lukewarm water, mix an equal amount of two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of salt. Soak your feet for about ten minutes and then scrub the cracks with a pumice stone (a spongy stone used to remove hard skin from the feet). Gently dry your feet with a towel, and in a second bowl, mix three tablespoons of olive oil with two tablespoons of sugar.

Massage your feet well with the resulting paste and give your cracked areas a 'treat'—a deep massage for several minutes. Rinse the area with water and then apply a bit of melted candle wax mixed with a spoonful of oil on the affected area. When the wax hardens on your feet, peel it off carefully.
