As parents, one of the most dreaded scenarios we face is when our children catch lice and start scratching. Not only is it unpleasant, but for young children, it can be especially frustrating, particularly when faced with the dreaded fine-toothed comb.

For energetic and restless kids, combing through with a fine-toothed comb is a tedious task that can seem like an impossible mission for parents. The issue is compounded by the fact that lice reproduce and spread rapidly, making it incredibly challenging to get rid of them once and for all.

However, an American forum of moms sharing various tips suggests a quick, easy, and foolproof method to eliminate lice once and for all that even hyperactive kids can handle.

"It's a very cheap method, without chemicals and without hours of suffering for the children and parents," one mother wrote in the forum. "It's a recipe I got from our nurse after genuinely trying all other options with a fine-toothed comb, and it simply didn't help."

What you'll need to make the mixture: a lice comb, mouthwash, white wine vinegar, towels, and a shower cap.

Treatment method:

  1. Wet the hair with mouthwash and thoroughly cover the hair with the shower cap.
  2. Leave it on the head for an hour and then wash the head thoroughly.
  3. Apply white wine vinegar to help remove any lice eggs. Comb thoroughly with the lice comb, then wash the hair with regular shampoo. Dry and towel the hair.
