1. Adjusting the Size and Shape of the Glasses for Your Child

Since young children (and even more so babies) cannot point out what bothers them about their glasses, the most crucial aspect to watch for when choosing glasses for them is the size and shape. Glasses should fit 'exactly' to the structure of the child's face.

2. Frame Size

It is important that the frame covers the entire eye and even rises slightly above. The eye must not 'escape' the frame at any cost, and it is important to ensure that when the child looks, their gaze is centered on the lens. Also, ensure that the frame doesn't leave marks in the form of red marks on the nose, which would indicate that the frame is not suitable for the size of the child's face.

3. How to Choose Glasses for Babies?

The guiding principle is to ensure the baby's gaze is directed towards the center of the lens to ensure the vision problem is addressed correctly. In terms of materials, plastic glasses made from natural and chemical-free materials are preferred, as babies often tend to put glasses in their mouths.

4. Listen to Your Child's Needs and Feelings

Despite everything mentioned above regarding adjusting the frame to the child's face, it is important to listen to the child's needs, personality, and feelings. For example, for children who like to feel the glasses on their face, choose a frame made of metal or plastic for comfort. However, for children who tend to take off their glasses and play with them, choose a more flexible frame that won’t break easily. Finally, always remember the golden rule: older children usually know what suits them, what is comfortable for them, and what is good for them, so there is no need to interfere with their decisions. Allow them the freedom to choose the frame that is comfortable and pleasant for them.
