1. The most important tip before anything else is consistency in giving treatment to your child. The recovery period from the flu can be particularly long if you forget to give medicine or accidentally provide a double dose.
To prevent such mistakes and to ensure as short a recovery as possible, you can write the exact dosage the child needs to take directly on the product: draw a table with three columns - the number of days the medicine has to be taken, daily dosage, and 'tracking'. In the tracking column, you can mark a check or cross on the days you gave the medicine.
2. A sick child's room often gets filled with unpleasant odors. To neutralize them, mix a tablespoon of baking soda in a bucket of water with cleaning liquid and wash the room. Baking soda powder is excellent at neutralizing unpleasant odors, including those from vomit.
3. To avoid the proliferation of germs in the room, often coming from used tissues scattered everywhere - you can glue two boxes together, one with tissues and the other empty. This way, the child can throw the used tissues directly into the empty box that you will empty every so often.
4. If the child is coughing heavily and the cough is preventing sleep, it helps to place half an onion near their head. The onion absorbs bacteria and makes breathing easier.
5. If an earache accompanies your child's illness, you can help them with one of the most effective methods for relieving ear pain: take an old but clean sock you don’t need, fill it with coarse salt and a few drops of lavender-scented essential oil. Heat the sock in the microwave for a few seconds and place it on the child's aching ear. You won't believe how much this method helps relieve the pain.
6. Throat pain accompanying illness can be alleviated with a natural solution composed of water, fresh lemon, and honey in equal parts. You can pour this miraculous solution into a yogurt cup, insert a stick or spoon, freeze, and consume as a popsicle.
