Do you know those people who wake up early in the morning and work with full energy? If you thought you're the only one looking at them with envy, from within the covers you're still nestled in even five minutes past your wakeup time, or under the pressure of daily tasks, you're not alone. If you also want to be an efficient and hardworking morning person, here are some tips that can help you.
First Tip: Wake Up Early in the Morning
Studies show that people who consistently wake up early in the morning are more optimistic, have a developed conscience, and are very determined and pleasant to be around. Practically speaking, there are many tasks that can be done in the morning that become more complex later in the day. The morning quiet can also provide concentration that is lacking in the evening.

Second Tip: Eat Breakfast
The Rambam spoke about the importance of the morning meal many years ago. Today, this is supported by many research findings. Instead of skipping breakfast in favor of more urgent tasks, make sure to eat early in the morning to help your concentration and mood. Without breakfast, you'll be less efficient. Also, avoid drinking coffee immediately upon waking, and if you're used to this habit, try changing it. According to studies, the body releases cortisol upon waking, which helps with natural awakening. Consuming caffeine at this time can disrupt the activity of cortisol. Opt for a breakfast with proteins and whole carbohydrates, and delay your coffee for an hour or two later.
Third Tip: Use Multitasking in the Morning
During the day, work efficiency decreases when performing multiple tasks simultaneously. However, in the morning, multitasking can help you and improve your abilities both mentally and physically. Listen to a lecture or a lesson while walking to work or preparing breakfast, or choose other concurrent activities you can do in the morning.
Fourth Tip: Turn Off Phones at Night
Numerous studies have already proven that light, especially artificial light emitted by various cellular devices, negatively impacts our body and sleep quality. This light confuses the body and gives a sense of daylight, keeping us awake into the late night hours. In the long run, this confusion makes it harder to wake up in the morning, disrupts the natural rhythm by which the body operates, and causes chaos in the physical systems. There are even studies recommending stopping the use of cell phones or similar devices from 8 PM until the next morning.
Fifth Tip: Check Emails Before the Workday Begins
It sounds a bit frustrating to check work emails before starting the day. However, research shows that this is one of the perks of 'morning people' - they check emails before arriving at the office, allowing them to plan their work priorities for the day effectively.

Sixth Tip: Start with Complex Tasks
Most of us tend to postpone hard or complex tasks as much as possible. But efficient morning people know how to prioritize effectively. Starting with easy tasks throughout the day creates a nagging feeling of needing to perform a difficult task later. It's better to start with the hard task, complete it, and then move on to simpler ones.
Seventh Tip: Be Active in the Morning
One of the most effective things to boost you throughout the day is morning exercise. It's not easy, I know, but a fitness workout or some form of morning physical activity makes you more energetic during the day and also enhances cognitive abilities.
