The detox method has gained attention over the past few years, yet it's crucial to adopt healthy habits at home to avoid the necessity of detoxing. Here are 10 reliable tips.

Who hasn't heard of the term 'detoxification' of the body? Since it became part of our awareness in recent years, it has made headlines. When discussing 'detoxification,' many think of it as a passing trend, but quite the opposite is true. Detox methods are well-known in traditional and natural medicine, although many ways are offered to achieve it.

Despite the significant benefits of the method, it's important to know that no detox method, however good, is a 'magic cure.' It is often a process, but the common denominator for all detox methods is the belief that the body can heal itself and find the energy needed for our health, if only we clear away certain substances that interfere with this task. These substances create an imbalance in the body and often manifest in various ways such as obesity, skin issues, digestive problems, mood swings, sleep disorders, fertility issues, and more.

So how do you start detoxifying at home? Here are 10 highly effective tips:

1. Return to nature – Remove processed food and prefer organic food, especially fruits and vegetables. Organic produce has a much higher nutritional value and doesn't contain the pesticide residues found in non-organic products, which can cause various illnesses.

2. Turn your fruits and vegetables into natural, healthy, and delicious juices, and incorporate them into as many meals as possible in your daily menu.

3. Consume less animal products - meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. The production process of these products is problematic and can lead to significant contamination.

4. Labels are the name of the game: when shopping, don't add products that look colorful and tempting to your cart. It's important to read the labels and avoid purchasing products that contain food colorings, preservatives, and other complex chemical names that you don't understand.

5. Don't say we didn't warn you: Teflon pans, Silverstone, and other coated names emit very harmful, even carcinogenic, substances. Therefore, the first step in detoxifying your body is to remove all coated pans and pots and buy stainless steel or ceramic-coated utensils instead. It might be an expense, but your health is worth all the money in the world.

6. Forget about reheating food in the microwave. The microwave not only 'robs' essential nutrients, but it also emits harmful radiation that can be irreversible. In this context, also forget about heating in plastic containers— plastic contains a dangerous substance called BPA, which migrates into the food we eat when heated.

7. Do you have mold in your house? You don't need to wait until Passover to clean. Mold can poison our body, so it's important to ensure that the walls, floors, and other surfaces in our homes are free from it.

8. Drink a lot of water? That's great. However, prefer filtered or purified water to keep pollutants at bay.

9. Prefer cold-pressed oils and consume less refined oils, as their processing is very harmful to the body.

10. Love cleaning and tidiness? It's time to replace regular chemical cleaning products with alternatives known to be equally effective, such as baking soda, vinegar, natural soaps, and degreasers, plus laundry powder alternatives with only natural ingredients.
