For years, bananas have been known as a "yellow energy bomb," and not without reason. Bananas contain many essential nutrients that are beneficial for treating a range of medical issues such as balancing the nervous system, boosting energy levels, improving anemia conditions, enhancing cognitive function, balancing high blood pressure, maintaining heart health, and more.

They are a kind of superfood powerhouse that equips our bodies with all the good things needed to thrive – vitamins, minerals, anti-cancer agents, and natural sugars like sucrose and fructose. Besides being fleshy and tasty, various doctors and therapists attribute numerous benefits to eating two bananas a day, the most notable being their phenomenal ability to combat chronic depression.

In the attached documentation, Dr. Willie Ong lists the essential components found in a medium banana—vitamins A, B, C, calcium, iron, and more, and also lists dozens of ailments and diseases that eating one or two bananas daily can prevent: heartburn, heart diseases, strokes, and more.

For those suffering from depression, Dr. Ong suggests eating a banana followed by a glass of water. "Within half an hour, you'll feel better," he says, adding that "many studies show that giving a child one banana a day helps prevent leukemia and childhood asthma."

Although considered one of the more "fattening" fruits due to their sugars, many people report on a "banana diet" consisting of eating 30 (!) bananas a day - claimed to be particularly successful (on the other hand, caution is advised, as this diet is not suitable for everyone and may cause digestive issues).

Bananas contain high levels of tryptophan, which our body uses to convert into serotonin, known as the hormone of happiness and joy. This hormone boosts mood levels and is released, for example, when we engage in physical activities or when we dance.

Against all odds, according to Dr. Ong's explanation, bananas are particularly beneficial for diabetics: "Eat one or two bananas a day, just make sure you choose the right ones, and not those on the brink of over-ripening—which might raise blood sugar levels."
