One of the Most Nutrient-Dense Foods in the World: Spirulina Algae

Spirulina contains ten times more calcium than milk, fifty times more iron than spinach, and as much Vitamin E as wheatgrass. It contains all B vitamins, including the rare Vitamin B-12, Vitamin A, and more. It consists of about 70% complete protein, comprising all essential amino acids. It's easy to see why spirulina is crowned a 'superfood'.

Most of us know seaweed as a significant and essential source of iodine, crucial for thyroid function when it's underactive. However, there are many more types of algae; one of them is spirulina, which has recently illuminated the world of health foods. Firstly, it's essential to note that algae are akin to rootless aquatic plants. Some algae live in salty waters, like seaweed, while others, like spirulina, inhabit freshwater. Spirulina is considered one of the most nutrient-dense foods in the world, earning it the title of a 'superfood'. What makes spirulina so potent?

Spirulina contains about 70% complete protein, which includes all essential amino acids (the building blocks of proteins). It has ten times more calcium than milk, fifty times more iron than spinach, and as much Vitamin E as wheatgrass. The algae contain all B vitamins, including the rare Vitamin B-12, Vitamin A, and various other vitamins. It is also rich in numerous minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, manganese iron, zinc, chrome, and more. Spirulina has a very high percentage of chlorophyll, its green pigment. Chlorophyll plays a vital role in detoxifying the liver and blood. It helps strengthen the immune system and contributes to blood fortification in cases of anemia.

Spirulina contains a high level of antioxidants, with one of the most potent and unique to it called phycocyanin, giving it a deep blue color. These antioxidants exhibit anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anticancer activity. They prevent various diseases, including cancer, and delay aging processes. Importantly, algae should not be seen as medication but as a complete, nutritious, and healthy food. People often ask if spirulina treats specific issues, to which I respond that it doesn't treat per se, but consuming it provides the body with numerous health components whose balance creates synergy and interaction, allowing the body to receive a complete and balanced food.

Due to spirulina's unique properties, it is a food with high absorption. This creates a situation where the algae nourishes the body and simultaneously addresses areas needing attention. Over time, those who consume spirulina experience an improvement in their health condition. The immune system and resistance to diseases improve, those suffering from fatigue and exhaustion feel strengthened, and over time, the body detoxifies from various toxins, enhancing general health and system functionality. Spirulina's various components help diabetics balance their sugar levels, and those needing a mood boost indeed find improvement.

The algae can be purchased in natural food stores in capsule form, also available with strict kosher certifications.
