#VALUE!
Endless Observation
A person who observes discovers countless details in creation, leading them to understand that the world was created with the intention to benefit and provide for us.
If we examine the structure of the body, it's clear—without needing to be scientists or doctors—how wonderfully it is designed for our needs. For example, the nose is above the mouth to prevent us from ingesting spoiled or bad food. The lips are more sensitive to heat to prevent overly hot food from entering our body. The eyes are recessed compared to other facial features, providing protection during falls, with eyebrows above them to prevent sweat from dripping in and causing harm. Eyelids cleanse the eyes from dust and dirt, among many other precise designs in each organ, all intended for our benefit!
The non-believer doesn't notice any of these things. They don't consider who provides them with endless gifts and meets their needs in a marvelous and perfect way. For them, it's just nature—they were born this way, they grew up this way. It's all natural and apparent. They are not astounded...
May we merit to thank and praise the Creator of the world for every breath, every day of life, our wonderful bodies, and all the gifts surrounding us, bestowed upon us by the Creator with abundant grace and kindness.
An Organ That Regenerates
The human body is the most sophisticated, marvelous, and perfect creation in the world, with zero defects. Every organ has a role and purpose.
Miraculously, there is one organ that is expelled from the body and grows anew each time. This is a complete, separate, and autonomous system that regenerates each time. Which organ is it? The placenta—within a woman's body.
The placenta is the only organ in the human body that not only provides life to the fetus but develops from scratch at an adult age. If this fact doesn't leave you astonished, you might be surprised to know that, like cancer cells, the immune system does not attack it.
The placenta develops in pregnant women alongside the fetus, and its principal role is to enable the exchange of substances between the mother and the fetus. It attaches to the womb walls and functions like several organs together—it supplies oxygen to the fetus like the lungs, filters waste like the kidneys, and serves as an immune system for the fetus. Furthermore, it separates the mother's and the fetus's blood streams, allowing the fetus to reach an appropriate size before birth.
At the end of the birth process, the placenta is naturally expelled from the womb. Its role is completed.
The placenta is considered one of the extraordinary organs in the human body.
Who "attached" the placenta to the fetus? Who "programmed" the formation of the placenta to protect the fetus's life so perfectly? Who "creates" it anew each time and "ensures" its expulsion from the woman's womb, and who "gave" the command to the immune system not to attack it?
The Bible is Our Deed!
I have a colleague at work who was a combat soldier in the army. He currently serves in reserve duty for weeks throughout the year. He loves the country, declares loyalty to it, and is even willing to die in its defense. Incidentally, he curses all those who do not enlist—the "ultra-Orthodox."
However, there is one problem, he denies Hashem, the Torah! And why is this a problem, you ask? Here is an excerpt from a conversation with him about the "conquest" of the land from the Arabs:
"Why do you live in the Land of Israel? You're living in a state that forcefully conquered people who lived here before. If, G-d forbid, there is no Hashem, then the Torah is not true, the people of Israel is a fictitious invention, and all Judaism is one big fraud! As a denier, like you, you should not live in the Land of Israel, because living here is illegal and immoral. You behave barbarically—you conquer lands that are not yours!"
Of course, he said it was unrelated and replied that the Land of Israel belongs to us because we conquered it, and that's how it is in wars...
Many discussions have been held in our generation on our right to the land. It seems that the simple statement has yet to be clearly said: the land is ours because Hashem gave it to us! The Torah contains many verses teaching that Hashem gave the Land of Israel to the people of Israel (Deuteronomy 11:21; Genesis 24:7; Genesis 50:24; Exodus 33:1-2).
It is told that the first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, in his testimony before the British "Peel Commission," declared that "the Bible is our deed to the Land of Israel." Even David Ben-Gurion understood that the moral justification for our existence in the Land of Israel is rooted in the Torah. Without it, we become unlawful and immoral conquerors. He understood that the claim that the Land of Israel belongs to the nation of Israel because it was conquered by them is not valid at all.
Indeed, David Ben-Gurion declared that "the Bible is our deed to the Land of Israel." However, this declaration, when not accompanied by following the Torah's path, is empty of content. I find it puzzling how he can make a claim of ownership based on a document he himself does not respect...
Friends, the Creator of the world gave us the land and the right to live in it, but this right is conditional. If the condition is met, the right will exist, and in its absence, it will be lost. The right to settle in the Land of Israel was granted to us on condition that we do not behave like the acts of Egypt and the acts of Canaan (Leviticus 18:3). Hashem conditioned our settlement in the land on observing the commandments. Without fulfilling this condition, the promise will not be upheld.
It turns out that the "deed" contains "small print," in which the necessary conditions for its existence are written...
"You Give Them Their Food in Due Season"
Have you noticed that fruits and vegetables do not grow at the same time and in the same season? Some grow in summer, some in winter, and others in spring and fall.
What is the benefit of this? Wouldn't it be simpler for everything to grow at the same time?
But this is another wonder of the Creator and His actions, who does not bring forth all fruits and vegetables in the same season, and it's all for the benefit of the human body. How so?
For example, eating watermelon is important specifically in summer. Why? Because of the lycopene – an antioxidant pigment – in watermelon. Beyond being mostly water and thus refreshing and cooling the body on hot days, watermelon has properties that protect the skin from sun radiation damage.
Citrus fruits (e.g., oranges) are essential in winter. Why? Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, which strengthens our immune system, serving as a natural vaccine against winter illnesses, including the flu and cold.
The Creator of the world knows the time when each fruit is best and healthiest for the creatures more than at any other time. This is what "He gives them their food in due season" means – each food at its special time, suitable for the season according to the nature and needs of the creatures. Isn't that a wonder? Indeed, with technological advancements, it became possible to grow fruits and vegetables out of season. Additionally, there is also the option to store them in cold storage, and, of course, import them from other countries. Still, it's important to eat fruits in their appropriate season: because of the taste – fruits consumed closer to their harvest time are generally more delicious than those stored long term. Because of nutritional value – at peak season, active ingredients and antioxidants are at their full strength. Another reason is the price – fruits and vegetables are cheaper at their peak season. "Do Not Bring Me to Trial" People are sometimes puzzled by the question: Is trial beneficial for us? On one hand, the trial is intended to elevate us, but on the other, we say every day in our morning blessings: "Do not bring me to trial..." So, how should we approach the trial? The simple meaning of the term "trial" is a test. When a person faces difficult situations, their loyalty is tested. By placing them in situations opposing their goal, it is tested whether their intent is indeed sincere, stable, and truly focused on reaching the truth, despite the challenges that stand in their way. Trials are part of every person's way. The trials found at every turn are an integral part of the format the Creator designed for humans during their life. The person was brought into this world to serve their Creator, observe commandments, and successfully stand in trials. We know of children who know how to recite the material they've learned well, yet this is no proof of their true mastery of it. They might have only learned to memorize it. If they were able to answer correctly a question posed unexpectedly, it would be clear their mastery is complete. The same applies to every person. Precisely standing in unusual and challenging situations proves how dedicated the person is to their goal. After a person merits to successfully stand a trial, they are no longer the same person who faced challenges and trials before succeeding. While every good deed elevates them in rank, standing a trial grants them a significant spiritual uplift. The harder the trial, the higher the person subsequently ascends. The term trial derives from the root "nes," meaning a flagstaff, the high and prominent mast of a ship. Every trial successfully overcome elevates the person to a higher status than before. However, despite the virtue of a trial, a person should not seek out trials and request them for fear of failing. On the contrary, every person should be fluent with the prayer: "Do not bring me to trial." Nonetheless, if the Creator of the world decrees that a person finds themselves in a trial, He equips them from the outset with a "toolbox" to pass it successfully. Friends, crises and difficulties are unparalleled tools for spiritual and general ascent. One cannot prove their loyalty to the Creator out of material and spiritual abundance, as this is straightforward. If every day the Creator smiles upon you, giving you health, excellent children, an exemplary wife, and an abundance of money, you naturally love Him and thank Him every day by saying "Blessed be His name, blessed be His name"... But what happens if suddenly the money doesn't come, health declines, and the children stop listening? Will you still say "Blessed be the name of the Creator of the world" at that time? In times of crisis and difficulty, the Creator, blessed be He, evaluates a person. If they lift their eyes to the heavens and accept His decree submissively, this is the true proof of their pure and simple faith in the Creator, blessed be He. If we do not doubt His goodness even for a moment, then the crisis itself becomes a reason for the Creator to greatly reward us in this world and the next.
