In these days, when global anti-Semitism seems to flare up daily, there couldn't be worse timing to learn about the reprinting of 'Mein Kampf', Hitler's hate-filled book, under whose destructive doctrine six million of our people were mercilessly murdered.
Why now? It turns out that the ban on the re-publication of the book is set to expire this December, a fact that has sparked interest from several parties in the renewed printing process, much to the chagrin of many critics who have voiced their strong opposition to such a move.
One of the opposing figures is Levi Salomon, spokesperson for the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism in Berlin. "I am completely against the publication of 'Mein Kampf', even with annotations. Can you add notes to the devil's writings? Add annotations to someone like Hitler? This book is beyond human logic," expressed Salomon.

While most old copies of the book no longer exist, it is not inconceivable that some are still circulating and available for purchase on various online platforms. Now, with the copyright expiration approaching, the new edition of the book is expected to be released early next year. According to the academics responsible for this step, it is considered an 'essential academic tool' that, with annotations, will contribute to understanding different historical processes.
Despite the significant opposition from Jewish communities, including many Holocaust survivors, the academic institute responsible for publishing the new edition has decided to stick to its decision and move forward with future printing plans. "I understand how uncomfortable it must feel when a book that played such a dramatic role is made available again," said Magnus Brechton, director of the academic institute responsible for the new edition’s publication. "However, I believe that publishing the book with the appropriate annotations will prevent traumatic events like the Holocaust from happening again."
