Life is full of routine challenges that require judgment and decision-making. Sometimes more complex situations arise, requiring decisions between multiple considerations, risks, or actual losses. How does one address these challenges in a healthy and correct manner?

Below are 4 tips to help you tackle problem-solving and decision-making easily and effectively.

1. Patience. Take your time and try to calmly think of a solution to the problem

Even if you are anxious, do not rush the first option you encounter, as you may end up taking dubious shortcuts that will eventually lengthen your path. Pressure does not benefit our creativity.

A break can refresh our thinking capabilities, making solutions clearer over time. You might be surprised by the creative ideas you come up with after a calm break away from your problems.

2. Break the problem into small details and tackle it in parts

Sometimes the problem may feel like a huge mountain that is difficult, if not impossible, to climb. However, if we break it down into individual details, we will feel the problem is manageable and easier to tackle. You may be surprised to discover that the problem isn't as complicated as initially thought, and in some cases, the big issue may disappear altogether.

To deeply analyze the problem, consider two points:

* Ask yourself: Where/what exactly is the problem?

* Identify the gap between the current state and the desired one—what do we expect? What is the normal situation from our perspective?

Analyzing the reality will help us understand whether there is a problem at all, or examine another perspective before proceeding.

3. Consider multiple solutions instead of focusing on the problem itself

A healthy approach to problem-solving is to start from the end, that is, the solution. Focusing on the problem makes it difficult for the mind to find the solution, causing it to consider extreme and inefficient solutions. Therefore, after recognizing there is a problem, it is recommended to come up with several solutions before burdening the mind with the pressure of thoughts.

4. Make an organized list of all possible solutions

Write down all possible solutions, even the one that seems unrealistic and far from reality.

Each idea should be evaluated based on parameters of effectiveness, short/long-term gains, time estimates, availability of resources, and other constraints that must be considered moving forward.

This method will encourage your creativity, leading you to the correct solutions.

Good luck!
