Rashbi's Ancient Prophecy: When Damascus Falls, Salvation for Israel Will Emerge

In the book "Otzar Midrashim," the description of redemption appears, as Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai heard from an angel while he hid in a cave. The Midrash contains a passage that seems to refer to our days: "And this is the sign for you when you see that the Eastern Nero of Damascus has fallen, the kingdom of the sons of the East will fall and then salvation will sprout for Israel, and Mashiach ben David will come and ascend to Jerusalem."

Someone checked and found that "Eastern Nero" in Gematria equals "Bashar Assad." The timing is so relevant, as reports from Syria speak of the dying throes of Assad's regime.
