From Sacred Temple Incense to Death Drugs
A plague of addiction spreads in the Jewish state, likened to a terrifying cancer. The epidemic sees nearly no home untouched by tragedy, with drugs consuming lives—a consequence of a society losing its sanctity, chasing personal pleasures.

#VALUE!
Words spoken in the name of a Jewish scholar who cried out from his heart years ago.
And Hashem said to Moses, take for yourself spices – and make incense – pure and holy – and place some before the testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you; it shall be most holy for you. The incense that you shall make – it shall be holy to Hashem.
The commandment of Hashem, the Torah of Israel, the commandment of spices; the duty of the spices. The holy, Jewish spices for Hashem; 365 portions were prepared, as the number of days in the solar year. Each day, they would burn some on a special altar – the golden altar; an altar upon which it was forbidden to offer anything else, not even a sacrifice. Every day, they offered one portion, half in the morning and half in the afternoon; for the spices of holiness, closeness, and incense symbolized Hashem's holiness, glory, and wondrous fragrance in the world.
The incense blooming in the hands of His chosen, holy and exalted people, so that the smoke and pleasant scent of holiness would fill the sanctuary as a constant reminder for Israel, to magnify the glory of the house and its reverence over all the people. So significant was the Jewish commandment of spices that they prepared three more portions to be offered on Shabbatot, Yom Kippur, the only day of the year when a born human was allowed to enter the Holy of Holies. On this sacred and awe-inspiring day, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies with fear and trembling, bearing incense spices. There, in the holiest place on earth, amid the ark's wings, he piled the incense spices on the coals, and the whole house was filled with smoke. "And the glory of Hashem filled the house".
Pity, pity for a lost people. Pity for a people being lost, pity for a people losing its religion and wisdom. Pity for a people that once stood on the high summit of holiness and purity, with 11 incense spices of life, and has fallen, pulled down by betraying shepherds to the deep pit of death drugs.
Sinister drugs used for harm and death – our enemies intent on destroying us – use drugs to ruin our foolish generation. To our precious daughters, drugs are provided in various ways and methods, pushing them onto the streets, while to our sons, the collapsing poison is freed and pushed at every opportunity.
A plague of affliction spreads in the Jewish state. An epidemic, terrifying cancer, a death blow. Almost no house remains without a death. A plague of drugs, idol incense of the nations, stemming from a society that lost the image of holiness, the divine image, chasing personal pleasure and self-indulgence.
A generation unaware of the holiness of spices that delighted and uplifted the Jewish soul; a generation seeking escape from reality and life, to shed holiness and responsibility. A lost generation, suicides in our midst.
Our sons and daughters progress from bad to worse, from "soft drugs" – who coined this miserable term? – to hard and severe drugs. Today, an entire generation of youth is exposed to slow death, meanwhile languishing, disconnected from study, work, and for a "joint" of hashish they reach for daily bread.
Of course, this death plague hasn't skipped the doorstep of the army, the Israel Defense Forces, a symbol of Israeli society's glory and prestige.
Most alarming is that security forces are aware that a significant portion of the deadly drugs enters the country from the territories and Lebanon, as part of an Arab nationalist plan to destroy the army, ruin the youth, obliterate the state. If only to prevent these deadly drugs from entering, barring the territories' Arabs would suffice. And if only to save our sons and daughters from this death, removing them would justify declaring this day a holiday in Israel.
Before us lies the inevitable result of a secular society casting away the yoke of holiness and commandments, donning the cloak of selfishness, reckless freedom, chaos, greed, pleasure-seeking, enjoyment, making life a party.
This is the society you created. You destroyed a people of holiness and purity, of sacred and supreme values, of the yoke of sovereignty and supreme discipline, Judaism. The breath of the mouth of babes from Rabbis' homes, holy and pure mouths of God-fearing, filial piety, respect for wives and husbands, a generation once aware of the path, role, and purpose of a Jew in the world. Fools, you traded this people's honor for drugs, drunkenness, crime, immorality, cynicism; you destroyed the Torah of Israel, and Hashem has repaid you: you have a generation trampling Judaism and all our sacred ancestors' heritage.
Ashkenazi elders began the spiritual Holocaust within their families. Their children, on kibbutzim and villas in Savyon, betrayed all their parents' values and remained empty of all Jewish content. Then they extended their hands to the sacred communities – the Mizrahi communities. They took warm and observant Jews from Morocco to Iran, ruined their Judaism, and injected them with Western culture, Hellenization, spiritual ruin.
Spoken in the name of a Jewish scholar who cried from his heart for many years, and we sadly see the result.
