#VALUE!
Dr. Shadman Zaman is the first Bangladeshi citizen permitted to enter Israel with his Bangladeshi passport - openly. By coming to Israel, he has departed from his homeland of Bangladesh, where he was born and where his parents still reside.
Dr. Zaman was born in Bangladesh, a Muslim country ranked among the most anti-Semitic in the world. Nevertheless, Dr. Zaman himself grew up as a Zionist, even though he was raised all his life to hate Israel. "The story of the Jewish people has always intrigued me, which is why I decided to convert," he says, adding that he would be happy to make aliyah. Dr. Zaman is currently in the process of conversion. All this despite the fact that a Bangladeshi citizen visiting Israel faces many years in Bangladeshi prison.
Dr. Shadman Zaman recently attended a conference of the World Zionist Organization's Department for Combating Anti-Semitism, held in London. Additionally, he participated in a video by the advocacy organization StandWithUs. The video featuring him has so far received around 150,000 views.
