Rabbi Zilberstein on the Night of Great Miracles: "This is the Mitzvah that Will Protect Us from All Troubles"

Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, the rabbi of the Ramat Elchanan neighborhood in Bnei Brak, addressed the great miracles that occurred in Israel during the Iranian attack yesterday (Sunday).

"Hashem watched over us and will always do so, for we are His children and people of His covenant," said Rabbi Zilberstein, emphasizing the importance of observing Shabbat: "When Hashem's anger is present in the world, we have an excellent remedy in the form of Shabbat, as we sing in the Shabbat hymns the sacred words of the 'Ibn Ezra': 'If I keep the Sabbath, God will guard me.'

"Observance of Shabbat, as promised, grants us protection and shelter from all the troubles coming into the world. But all this provided that one guards their speech during Shabbat and does not indulge in mundane conversation, but rather engages in Torah study and strengthening faith, creating a pleasant atmosphere at home, an atmosphere of belief in the Creator of the Universe," added Rabbi Zilberstein.

"The Shabbat table is the most effective time to speak with the children about matters of faith and trust, to immunize them against the harms of the world, and to provide them with the tools to cope with life's challenges. But all this can only happen in a relaxed environment.

"And if we strive to walk in the path of righteousness, we can be calm and assured in the protection of our Father in heaven," concluded Rabbi Zilberstein.
