Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Lugasi, in his book 'Nafshi Besh'alati,' offers several tips to help us focus more during prayer:

1. Consistency in prayer both in terms of time and place is beneficial, as a comfortable location and a fixed time help improve prayer focus.

2. Arrive at prayer after studying a passage in mussar.

3. Most prayer distractions stem from grudges between individuals, as personal memories and accounts resurface during prayer. Therefore, it's recommended not to hold any grudges against any fellow Jew, at least during prayer (as mentioned in the book 'Yesod HaShoresh VehaAvodah').

4. Pray specifically from a siddur. In situations where a person feels a special elevation and prefers to pray without a siddur, it is advised to pray with closed eyes and return to prayer within the siddur when enthusiasm fades.

Additionally, it is recommended to hold the siddur in hand, as prayer is more effective when coming from a siddur than when it is placed on a stand or table.
