Why Does Hashem Care About What My Eyes See? Days of the Shovavim
"The grass is always greener on the other side; the tragedy is that when you return to your own grass, you'll call it white, red, but not green." Weekly message from Rabbi Eliyahu Rabi

#VALUE!
Hello and blessings, my teachers and friends!
We are still in the atmosphere of the opening days of the Shovavim, days when we are expected to maintain holiness and atone for past sins on the matter.
And pay close attention!
There are those who ask: "Why does it bother you, Master of the Universe, what I look at? You are my God, you gave me a pair of eyes? Thank you very much! Let me use them as I please, let me use them for my enjoyment."
So first of all, the question shows you that if Hashem gave you the eyes, He has every right to decide what you will use those eyes for that He gave you.
Just as if your father or your boss gave you a car, they have every right to tell you where to drive that car and where not to drive.
But do you know why it is so interesting to the Creator of the world what you look at and what you shouldn't?
For one reason only!
He loves you very much, not just very, but very, very, very much, and if it were possible to continue saying the word "very" hundreds of times, it would be right to do so, and why?
There is no love like Hashem's love for His children, the love of a father and mother is only a small reflection of the love of Hashem for each one of us.
And Hashem loves you, and Hashem wants you to be happy with what you have, and to be content and joyous with those around you, and the moment you look at foreign fields, the moment you seek other things that do not belong to you, at that moment all your mood and all your enjoyment of the simple and pleasant life tailored uniquely for you begins to fade.
The Master of the Universe tells you: "It's important to me that the enjoyment stays with you together, it's important to me that satisfaction accompanies you all your life, and it's important to me that there isn't a single moment in the world where you're not happy. For your sake, don't look at what doesn't belong to you."
The grass is always greener on the other side; the tragedy is that when you return to your own grass, you'll call it white, red, but just not green.
Focus on your own grass, focus on your children, focus on those around you, and you will see contentment, peace, joy, and true satisfaction and goodness all your days, Amen.
Blessings to you!
