What Made Moses' Prophecy Unique Among All Prophets?

Did the prophets hear Hashem speaking to them as people speak to each other?

#VALUE!

Throughout the Tanakh, it is often noted that Hashem addresses humans using phrases such as "He said" or "He spoke." Does this mean that Hashem truly spoke with individuals and they heard it as if two people were conversing? And if so, does Hashem still speak with people today?

Shalom and blessings,

Hashem did not speak directly to ordinary people but only to prophets of a very high caliber, who could comprehend the divine communique.

Most prophets heard Hashem's words in night visions, but Moses, due to his greatness among the prophets, heard Hashem speaking to him while awake. The prophets indeed heard Hashem's voice communicating with them and expressing His will as one person speaks to another (since Hashem recognizes human frailty and speaks in a way that can be understood). Of course, Hashem's speech was far more powerful than human speech, and the prophets revered Hashem's words and acknowledged His sacred power.

Today Hashem does not speak directly to people but rather indirectly: through various events in their lives and the way prayers are answered. However, when the Messiah arrives, prophecy will return to Israel, and Hashem will once again communicate personally with the prophets.
Best wishes,
