#VALUE!
Imagine the following story: You're walking in a deserted area, hear a mysterious noise above you, lift your head to the sky, and suddenly you see a full-scale flying saucer hovering above you! Yes, just like in all the sci-fi movies/stories you've seen so far.
The saucer lands before you in a flash... Your entire body is paralyzed with fear and anticipation. Before you can even think of what to do, the spaceship lands on the ground, and a door opens at its head. Stairs extend down to the earth.
Out of the door comes a figure towards you... You ask yourself, "What kind of strange aliens would build such a craft, and what might they look like? Antennae on their heads? Eyes with multiple pupils?" You are eager to see what emerges from the spacecraft.
Only when the figure starts descending the stairs can you recognize that it's a type of humanoid robot! The robot identifies you and greets you with a wave. As it approaches you, it immediately asks without any formalities: "Who made you? Where is your creator?"
You are puzzled by the robot's question; maybe it lost a screw? You wonder and say, "Who created me, you ask? I should be asking who created you?!? You're a robot with screws and batteries; where are the intelligent alien beings who created you?"
"No one created me, you simple organism!" it accuses you angrily, "It's as clear as daylight! I was made through a process called 'Robolution' discovered by the supercomputer D.D.Arwin. The entire robot community on my planet was created through 'Robolution'... Once, all there was on my planet were the simplest components... chips and electromagnetic energies that joined together in various combinations until after 3.8 billion years, the first functional chip was created. From it, small robots developed and evolved over millions of years into sophisticated robots like me..."
"You think it's a joke! "What star did you pop out of?" you ask sarcastically. It replies seriously, "From Earth Cube, of course!" You look around, searching for a hidden camera among the bushes as the robot asks again, "So who is your creator?" Now you're really annoyed... "No one created me, I'm an independent being born from two human parents just like me. I was created by natural processes without any help from a creator or maker... You, on the other hand, are a robot, a machine like the ones we create!
"The robot also becomes irritated and almost threateningly asks, "Do you dare suggest someone created me?"
You answer him without fear: "Of course, someone created you, look at yourself! You have screws I can take apart with any screwdriver from my house... Your eyes are two video cameras. You live on a battery!"
"I fear you were poorly constructed, earthly creature," says the robot, "it's us in Earth Cube who create biological beings like you! If you wish, I can show you right now the surgical tools I can use to take you apart... The battery that sustains me is the energy present on my star."
"And who are you to complain about me," it adds, "when you live off organic food! You are the created being, not me!" You don't know what to say anymore, and the whole situation seems like a bad dream, "But it's obvious that someone built you! No one built me...", and it insists - "You're wrong, it's obvious that someone built you, while I am the one that no one built."
You've lost your patience by now, maybe it's lost a fuse. Artificial intelligence for sure, thinking it's independent! But did it really lose a fuse, or is the problem with you?
This allegory is meant to teach us to look at the world and ourselves objectively and explore the possibilities concerning the origin of the universe and mankind.
