The Twin Towers Tragedy: Why?
Many ponder the spiritual meaning of the horrific tragedy in the USA. We are too humble to point out with certainty the purpose of divine providence in this extraordinary event. However, the Torah teaches us not to attribute even the smallest of events to mere chance...

#VALUE!
Up to the warning, 'If you walk with Me by chance (saying it is coincidence) and I, in turn, will walk with you in the fury of chance' (I will need to 'thicken' the hints, until you acknowledge that there is a guiding hand in every event). It is our duty to at least try to understand the message hidden in each event, especially in an extraordinary and terrible event like the one before us..
So, the sages tell that when Titus sailed to Rome after destroying Jerusalem and burning the Temple, a storm arose and his ship was about to sink. Titus said, 'It seems to me that the God of these people has power only in water. He drowned Pharaoh in water, drowned Sisera in water, and now He stands to drown me in water..
If He is mighty, let Him come ashore and make war with me.' A heavenly voice said to him, 'Wicked man! I have a small creature in my world called a gnat. Come ashore and make war with it.' Once he came ashore, a gnat entered his nostril and gnawed at his brain until he died.
This means a person living with pride and self-power, Hashem shows him his insignificance precisely from a minor angle which he would never consider, as from there the harshest blow in his life could come. The foundation of rebellion against the supreme power ruling and orchestrating creation is rooted in human pride. And as it is said in the Torah, 'And your heart will become haughty, and you will forget Hashem your God'.'
The proud who live with the feeling 'there is none besides me' and 'my power and the might of my hand' etc., feel this way also towards Hashem and consequently are drawn after materialism, money, and desire, as they do not nullify their desires and appetites before the will of Hashem. Today, there is no one who symbolizes human pride more than great America, and there is no place where the world of materialism, money, and desire is more prominent than this place.
New York symbolizes America and there stand the tallest buildings in the world, the Twin Towers, which are the center of world trade, the symbol of human pride in the modern era. And opposite these two concrete and steel twins stand two other twins cast from values and spirit, the two tablets of the covenant, containing the universal moral values as if they shout in the face of permissive and materialistic world in the modern era: 'There is Hashem!' 'Do not murder!' 'Do not commit adultery!' 'Honor your father and your mother!' 'Keep the Shabbat!''.
Modern humanity in our time feels threatened by the atomic bomb, unconventional warfare, etc. With all else we can manage alone. We have cruise missiles, new interception methods, etc. etc. And behold, divine providence showed us all that through a few knives permitted by American law to bring onto planes, the giant tall twins collapsed in the giant country — the great human superpower in the world! And with them, the symbol of modern human pride, brought down by a weapon not belonging to the modern era.
And is it a coincidence that the Pentagon, the American Defense Department well-guarded and secured, pretending to defend from its offices the entire modern-democratic world, could not protect itself, and many of its employees fell? Is there not a heavenly voice proclaiming: There is a primitive light weapon in the world, and its name is knife, let the modern human technology superpower rise and make war with it??…
And when observing this occurrence as a part of the general picture of global events and specifically in the land, there is no doubt to any observer that in this terrible blow, unparalleled in all of human history, the world took another step towards the ultimate change which the verses of the Bible speak of in many places, when the world will recognize Hashem's sovereignty. (See this in detail at the end of 'Collection of Prophecies'). Blessed is he who awakens and boards the train before it departs, while he is still on the platform'…
