A popular app has come under attack in recent days by White House officials following a human error that caused a political-security storm. The app, named 'Signal', is actually responsible for end-to-end encryption, and senior members of the Trump administration use it for secret chat communications.

The error that cost 'Signal' dearly actually began when 'Atlantic' magazine editor Jeffrey Goldberg was mistakenly added to this secret chat and was exposed to top-level classified information he never thought he'd access. After being added to the group, discussions among officials about the planned attack on the Houthis in Yemen, the types of weapons available in the army, and the military actions to be taken ensued. Everything went 'smoothly' until Goldberg decided to respond in the group and received backlash with responses like 'How did he get here'.

The individual responsible for adding him to the group is none other than National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, leading to a heated discussion in the Trump administration regarding his potential dismissal.

Regarding the app, it is a highly sought-after platform in the USA, with more than 40 million users worldwide. Following the incident, an investigation was opened, raising questions about the security of the 'Signal' app when dealing with sensitive topics like those discussed in front of Goldberg.

Now, the Trump administration will need to seek a more secure platform and tighten its measures concerning the security of classified information.
