The residents of Fayette County, Texas, could hardly believe their eyes when they encountered a suspect pursued by the local police - a kangaroo. The animal was freely hopping down the town's roads, dressed in a red jacket, and it wasn't clear who helped it get dressed. The unusual sight led to a flood of emergency reports as astonished citizens tried to figure out how the Australian marsupial ended up on the streets of Texas.

The Fayette County police hurried to the scene, but capturing a runaway kangaroo proved to be quite a challenge. "Chasing criminals is one thing, but a kangaroo? That's a whole other level," joked one of the officers. According to reports, the kangaroo's owner, who keeps it as a private pet, said the animal escaped after the farm gate was accidentally left open.

Passersby filmed the kangaroo hopping through the streets, and the videos went viral on social media under the hashtag #KangarooCaper. One resident described the bizarre moment: "I'm driving down the road as usual, and suddenly I see a dressed kangaroo hopping beside me. I was sure I was dreaming!"

After hours of a tense pursuit, the police and wild animal catchers managed to capture the kangaroo, which turned out to be named Jack, and safely return it to its owner.
