"Sleeping on the Floor in Solidarity": Rabbi Koldetzky's Unbelievable Gesture for the Hostages
70-year-old Rabbi Yitzchak Koldetzky refuses to sleep on a bed since the Hamas attack: "How can one sleep comfortably when the hostages are suffering?!"

Rebbetzin Leah Koldetzky, daughter of the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky zt"l, shared last night (Sunday) with the families of hostages that her husband, 70-year-old Rabbi Yitzchak Koldetzky, has not slept on a bed since the horrific massacre carried out by Hamas in the communities surrounding Gaza during Simchat Torah 5784.
The Rebbetzin made these remarks when the families of the hostages visited her home, as part of a tour for Sukkot by families of hostages in Bnei Brak. In her statements, the Rebbetzin mentioned that in the first months following the attack, the Rabbi slept on the floor in solidarity with the hostages.
The Rebbetzin further added that by the end of winter, the Rabbi caught a cold from sleeping on the floor, and therefore placed a wooden board on his bed, and has been sleeping on it every night since.
"You can enter the room to see," the Rebbetzin said. "How can one sleep comfortably when we have no idea how and where the hostages are sleeping?!"
