David, a reservist who served about 250 days in the Paratrooper Brigade in Gaza, returned this week to his rented apartment in Tel Aviv to find it had been broken into while he was on duty. According to his estimate, property worth tens of thousands of shekels was stolen, along with essential documents such as passports and identification. The building's security cameras recorded the intruders, and the police have launched an investigation with the aim of finding them.

In a post on social media, David described his frustration following the break-in. "It was the only place where I felt safe after the hard months I had during service. To come back and find that this place wasn't protected – it broke me," he wrote. The intruders can be seen in the footage leaving with bags containing the stolen property.

Beyond the economic damage assessment, David highlighted the emotional significance of some of the stolen items. He said that a box taken contained personal items very dear to him. He is not seeking financial assistance, but rather public help in identifying the intruders to recover his belongings. "They stole all my documents and the things most precious to me. I just want my items returned to me, and for those responsible for the break-in to be caught," he added.

The police continue their investigation, but no suspects have been arrested yet. David hopes that with the public's assistance, the thieves will be caught soon.
