The required quantity for the concluding blessing (from "Halacha Yomit" by the rulings of Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, of blessed memory):

For anything a person eats, they must say a "first blessing," such as "shehakol" or "borei pri ha'etz." Even if one eats only a small portion of the food, they are obliged to bless if they intend to eat it. (However, if one only tastes the food to add spices or similar purposes, they do not bless over this tasting at all). Thus, someone who chews flavored gum, even if they swallow only very little, must bless due to the enjoyment from the taste of the gum. Likewise, anyone who drinks even just a single drop of a beverage must bless it.

All this pertains only to the first blessing. The concluding blessing is only recited when one has eaten a "significant amount," defined as the quantity of a "k'zayit," which is twenty-seven grams, and in drinking, the measure is a "revi'it," which is eighty-one grams.

Moreover, the eating or drinking should occur within a timeframe such that the consumption is combined. For example, if a person eats a "k'zayit" of bread throughout an entire day, piece by piece, they certainly cannot say birkat hamazon afterward. The consumption of a "k'zayit" must all occur within the time of "akhilat pras." Opinions differ on this timeframe; some say it is five minutes, while others say seven and a half minutes (other views also exist). Therefore, it is advisable to always eat the "k'zayit" amount (especially during Shabbat meals) within four and a half minutes to fulfill all opinions.

Regarding the concluding blessing after drinking, one must drink a revi'it (eighty-one grams) at once. If there are pauses between sips, the concluding blessing is not recited. Therefore, someone who slowly drinks soup with a spoon does not say a concluding blessing on it since they haven't drunk a revi'it at once. Similarly, for hot coffee or tea, a concluding blessing isn't recited because they cannot be drunk all at once.
