Jewish Records: Who Fasted the Longest Fast in the World?
A powerful story of dedication and sacrifice that makes Yom Kippur seem easy by comparison

The Tanna Rabbi Tzadok dedicated 40 years of his life to fasting. Through this fast, he sought to annul the decree of the destruction of the Second Temple.
It is said that from so much fasting, his body became transparent, and food could be seen through it. His body became so weak that he could no longer put any food in his mouth, other than the juice of dried figs.
