At the end of eating, recite 'Borei Nefashot' (concluding blessing)

The amount of food necessary to be obligated in a concluding blessing (taken from "Daily Halacha" based on the rulings of Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef z"tl):

For everything a person eats, they must recite a "first blessing," such as the blessing "Shehakol" or "Ha'etz." Even if they eat only a small amount of the food, they must say a blessing over it, as long as the intention is to consume it as food. (However, if they only taste the food to adjust the seasoning, for example, they do not recite a blessing at all.) Therefore, someone who chews flavored gum, even if they swallow only a tiny bit, must still bless for the enjoyment of its flavor. Similarly, someone who drinks anything should bless it, even when consuming just a single drop of the beverage.

This applies specifically to the first blessing, but a concluding blessing is only recited when eating a "significant amount," measured as a "k'zayit," which is twenty-seven grams. For drinks, the amount is "revi'it," or eighty-one grams.

Additionally, the eating or drinking must be done within a timeframe that combines it into a single consumption, because if a person eats a "k'zayit" amount of bread crumb by crumb throughout an entire day, they certainly cannot recite Grace after Meals afterward. Instead, the consumption of a "k'zayit" portion should happen within the time frame of "eating a pras," with varying opinions suggesting this is between five and seven and a half minutes (and there are other views). Therefore, it is always wise to eat a "k'zayit" portion (especially during Shabbat meals) within four and a half minutes to fulfill all viewpoints.

Regarding the concluding blessing for a drink, one must drink a revi'it amount (which is eighty-one grams) all at once, and if pauses occur between sips, no concluding blessing is recited. Therefore, someone who drinks soup with a spoon does not bless it afterward, since they didn't drink a full revi'it at one time, and similarly with hot coffee or tea, since they cannot be consumed in one go.
