Hashem Heard My Private Prayers—and Sent the Rabbi to Tell Me

No one knew what I was struggling with—until my uncle, Rabbi Yoram, told me exactly what I had prayed for.

#VALUE!

About three years ago, I went through a time in life where several things just weren’t going right. Three things, to be exact. I tried again and again to fix them, to move forward, but nothing worked. I felt completely stuck.

I didn’t know what else to do. I was frustrated, overwhelmed.

Eventually, I realized—I couldn’t handle this alone anymore. Only Hashem could help me now. At that point in my life, my faith was unfortunately quite weak. Maybe I had to be pushed to the edge in order to remember the One Who runs the world.

So I put on my tefillin (phylacteries), and I davened (prayed) from the depths of my heart. I poured everything out to Hashem and begged Him to help me with these three painful issues. When I finished praying, I went out for a run to try to clear my head.

A short while later, I returned from my run and saw three missed calls from my mother. I called her back, a little worried.
“Mom, why did you call?” I asked.

She answered, “Rabbi Yoram Abargil’s assistant called. He said the Rabbi is asking for you to come to him urgently.”

Now, Rabbi Yoram is my uncle—my father’s brother. If the Rabbi is calling, of course I’m going.

I drove to see him and asked, “Rabbi, why did you ask me to come?”

He looked at me with those warm, compassionate eyes and said: “Because in Heaven they told me to call you, and to let you know that the three things you prayed for…"

Then, one by one, he listed those three exact things. In the precise order I had davened for them. Each one. In detail.

And these weren’t general things—they were deeply personal. Two of them were things I had never shared with anyone. Not even my best friend in the world could have guessed what was really troubling me. Only Hashem knew what was on my heart.

Yet here it was—a message coming back to me, as if directly from Above.

“Those things,” the Rabbi continued, “A, B, and C—don’t worry. With Hashem’s help, they will be resolved. Just be calm and be happy.”

Baruch Hashem (thank God), things did work out in the end. But what completely amazed me was this: I had put on my tefillin and prayed with a full heart, and in such a clear and unmistakable way—I was heard.

To me, that was the real miracle. I was given direct, undeniable proof that heartfelt tefillah (prayer) reaches the Heavens. And that changed everything. It strengthened my faith in Hashem and in the divine hashgacha pratis (personal Divine supervision) that guides each and every one of us.

I feel incredibly lucky to have an uncle like Rabbi Yoram, who became the messenger for something so deeply personal and meaningful. But what this whole experience really showed me is that even if we don’t have someone like that in our lives, our tefillos (prayers) still go up. When we speak to Hashem from the heart, with honesty and feeling—those prayers are heard. The more real they are, the higher they rise.
