Milk contains growth hormones, allowing nursing infants to grow rapidly in the early months of life. This growth hormone, known as an anabolic hormone, is not suitable for adults and can accelerate cell growth in unhealthy ways. Humans are the only mammals that continue to consume milk into adulthood.
I don't think we should completely stop consuming the wide array of dairy products available in modern Western society. However, it's important to understand that dairy products do not play an essential role in human nutrition, and it's advisable to limit them as much as possible.
Many people are unable to digest dairy products, especially liquid milk, due to lactose intolerance – a deficiency in the digestive enzymes needed to break down lactose, the sugar in milk.
Many dairy products are loaded with saturated fat, which is cholesterol. Dairy products are a significant factor negatively impacting asthma, hormonal balance, mucus formation, and a wide range of allergies that cause skin issues and even mood swings.
Modern cows receive growth hormones to maximize milk production.
Contrary to popular belief, consuming dairy products does not increase calcium levels and does not prevent osteoporosis or bone fractures. Numerous studies have shown that countries with high dairy consumption have the highest incidence of bone fractures. Conversely, in countries with low dairy consumption, disease rates are lower.
Healthy bones need calcium, magnesium, boron, and zinc. Excessive calcium without the other minerals can actually enhance osteoporosis, fail to reach the right places, and even cause calcification.
Whole grains, legumes like white beans, chickpeas, cabbage, oranges, sardines, almonds, sesame seeds, including tahini, tofu, and leafy greens, contain plenty of magnesium, zinc, and other minerals that provide all the calcium the body needs, without the negative effects of dairy products.
For some people, giving up dairy products is very challenging. It is a food that evokes emotions, so it's important to understand that alternatives are available, plentiful in today's world. Reduce quantities and occasionally consume products that are not very fatty, and of course, without added sugars.
Dairy products without additives do not contain preservatives. Dairy products with fruits or flavored cheeses contain preservatives.
