What is cellulitis on the leg? Cellulitis occurs when a subcutaneous infection caused by the streptococcus bacteria, which is usually present on the skin, develops. This bacterium is necessary for blood clotting but should not invade the skin itself. When it settles inappropriately, inflammation can occur. How does this happen? When the skin becomes very dry due to poor blood circulation in the legs, weather conditions, or lack of skin nourishment, the skin gets dry and itchy. Scratching can allow the bacteria to penetrate, leading to an infection, characterized by redness, swelling, pain, and warmth.
Treatment
Apply a cream based on shea butter, olive oil, sea buckthorn, wheat germ, and lavender to dry skin.
It's important to strengthen the immune system to combat infections using echinacea, propolis, elderberry, cat's claw, and zinc supplements.
It is recommended to take three teaspoons a day of olive leaf tincture for its antibacterial properties. Those with low blood pressure should use caution with the tincture.
Follow an antioxidant-rich diet—featuring red fruits and orange and green vegetables.
Try resting with your leg elevated to reduce swelling and improve blood flow to the leg.
Additionally, an external remedy involves crushing a potato, onion, and honey, placing it on sterile gauze or cotton fabric, and applying it to the affected area. Secure the dressing with cling film.
Also, consider compresses made with water and essential oils—5 drops of lavender oil and 3 drops of rosemary. The entire treatment should be supervised by a naturopath.
Heel Spur
When there is pain in the heel area due to skeletal pressure on the foot (heel spur), you can soak your foot in hot water with 5 drops of rosemary oil and a decoction of horsetail plant for 20 minutes.
Afterward, dry the foot and apply Traumeel ointment or similar products.
Perform the treatment for several consecutive days. Drink 7-8 cups of herbal tea daily using a mix of horsetail, devil's claw, and boswellia. Take a teaspoon of the herbal mix, steep in boiling water for 20 minutes, and drink.
These anti-inflammatory herbs are effective for all skeletal problems.
It's also highly recommended to take a turmeric supplement, which is effective in treating inflammation in the area.
