The result was a dramatic weight loss of about 139 pounds. However, the results of his blood tests revealed issues that could not be ignored.
Before the change, Anseli weighed 300 pounds. He described his struggles: lack of energy, difficulty moving, and overall dissatisfaction with his body. According to him, his physical and mental state impacted his lifestyle, especially his relationship with his young son. Consequently, he decided to adopt a carnivorous diet, based solely on the consumption of meat and eggs, completely avoiding fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Throughout the year, Patrick documented his weight loss journey on his YouTube channel. He shared that he ate steaks, ground meat, and eggs daily, along with products like salami and cheese. He reported a significant improvement in energy and mood, even noting that his blood pressure improved considerably.
However, after about a year on this unique diet, health issues began to emerge. His blood tests revealed a drop in testosterone levels. Patrick mentioned experiencing recurring fatigue and anxiety, which led him to consult a urologist who recommended treatment. As a result, he decided to adjust his diet by incorporating fruits like strawberries and blueberries.
Dietitians warn against adopting extreme diets like Anseli's due to the potential lack of essential nutrients found in fruits and vegetables. Anseli himself emphasized that he plans to maintain such a lifestyle, but in a more balanced manner.
